Where: Sect. 2.2, Eq. 4, dynamic daily leaf area index, p. 221
Defines daily LAI for each vegetation type using exponent 0.03 and multiplier 5 x 10-4 in both the growing-degree-day and senescence-degree-day branches. The section describes the dynamic response as developed for SUEWS and cites no upstream derivation for the equation or coefficients.
Where: Sect. 3.1, Measurements, p. 225
Vancouver and Los Angeles supply measurements used to test SUEWS; the dynamic LAI equation is introduced earlier as part of the general model rather than fitted to either evaluation city.
| Name | supported Grass matches the vegetation type represented by the land_cover.grass target, and LaiEq = 0 records the stored selector for the published dynamic LAI equation. |
|---|---|
| Target | supported Equation 4 defines daily leaf area index for each vegetation type, so its coefficients belong to land_cover.grass. |
| Values | supported Equation 4 gives an LAI exponent of 0.03 and a degree-day multiplier of 5 x 10-4 for both growth and senescence, exactly matching all four stored coefficients. |
| Source | supported Järvi et al. (2011) introduce SUEWS and directly publish the dynamic LAI equation. Section 2.2 describes the response as developed in this work and gives no upstream attribution for the equation or its four coefficients. |
| Place | supported Equation 4 is defined for each vegetation type and is not fitted to Vancouver. Generic place correctly separates this method parameter from the later Vancouver evaluation context. |
| Representativeness | supported The coefficients define a general SUEWS vegetation equation rather than evidence measured or fitted at a site, city or region, so generic representativeness is appropriate. |
| Method | supported The record transcribes coefficients directly from the published SUEWS equation. |
| Identity | supported The deciduous-tree and evergreen-tree siblings carry the same coefficient set because Equation 4 applies the same form and constants to every vegetation type, not because the records were accidentally duplicated. |
Järvi et al. (2011) directly publish the four coefficients in the general SUEWS dynamic LAI equation and do not attribute that equation or its constants to an earlier source. Vancouver is an evaluation location, not the derivation place for this parameter set. The stable path and migration origin remain unchanged, while place and representativeness are corrected to generic so the record does not imply a city-specific fit. The identical deciduous, evergreen and grass coefficient payloads follow Equation 4's common treatment of vegetation types.
