| Composite identity | curation required The composite is named "Mixed Evergreen Trees, Järvi et al (2014)" and declares place helsinki. Three of its thirteen components declare source jarvi2014: snow_lim_patch, vegetation_growth and leaf_growth_power. Albedo, emissivity and leaf_area_index declare jarvi2011; water_storage declares ward2018; biogen_co2 declares havu-m2024; drainage declares jarvi2011; and max_vegetation_conductance declares breuer2003. Grimmond1991b supplies the coefficient record filling summer_wet; unreferenced supplies porosity and the coefficient record filling the other three OHM positions. The biogen_co2 slot in particular takes records/surfaces/evetr/helsinki--havu-m2024--biogen-co2--evergreen-trees-street, a record named "Evergreen trees - street", in a composite labelled mixed. Whether the label is an inherited typology name or a claim about where the values came from is not something the entries settle. |
|---|---|
| Composite target | curation required The composite declares target land_cover.evetr, every non-OHM component declares that same target, and the OHM positions take records declaring target ohm_coefficients, so slot types are right. leaf_area_index and leaf_growth_power both declare lai.lai_type 1, which satisfies the leaf_area_index coupling rule in schema/parameter_groups.yml, which makes an archetype whose two LAI components carry different lai_type values internally contradictory. The season and wet/dry mapping is where this composite differs from its siblings. summer_wet takes records/ohm/generic--unreferenced--all-vegetation--mixed-forest-20-mccaughey-1985 while summer_dry, winter_wet and winter_dry take records/ohm/generic--unreferenced--all-vegetation--vegetation-average-200-this-is-the-average-of-codes-20-30-50-51-52-53-60-i-e-includes-soil-and-water. Neither record carries a season_label or any wetness declaration, so nothing in either supports splitting the summer pair while leaving the winter pair joined, and the two describe different surfaces: one a mixed forest, the other an average its own name says includes soil and water. A maintainer has to say which set the composite intends, because the entries give no ground for choosing. |
| Own parameter values | not applicable The composite declares no parameters of its own, so every value it delivers is the component's. |
| Composition rationale | not applicable The composite claims no composition source, and the repository records no published rationale for this assembly. The components' own sources belong to their evidence assessments, not to this review. |
| Place applicability | curation required The composite claims helsinki, and three slots take Helsinki rows: leaf_growth_power, biogen_co2 and vegetation_growth. drainage takes records/surfaces/evetr/london--jarvi2011--drainage, which now correctly declares place generic, representativeness generic and applicable_scale land_cover; its retained London origin records later application rather than parameter location. max_vegetation_conductance also takes a generic record. Albedo, emissivity and snow_lim_patch are generic, leaf_area_index is regional, and water_storage is a site-scoped Swindon value. Moving that site result into a Helsinki city archetype needs an explicit composition decision; the separate OHM-selection question is recorded under target. |
| Representativeness | curation required The composite declares representativeness city. The Helsinki rows are city; albedo, emissivity, drainage, snow limit, max_vegetation_conductance and porosity are generic; leaf_area_index is regional; and water_storage is a site-scoped Swindon result. The site-to-city water-storage transfer needs human curation. |
| Slot and season mapping | supported An assembly of existing records into slots; the composite asserts no value of its own. |
| Completeness and uniqueness | supported The composite fills all eleven named slots and the four OHM positions, which is the slot set every deciduous-tree, evergreen-tree and grass archetype in this database uses, so the assembly is complete. The porosity slot takes records/surfaces/evetr/generic--unreferenced--porosity, whose parameters block is empty and whose origin reads "Porisity only used for Deciduous Tree. This is a Dummy Variable", so that slot contributes no value by design rather than by omission. It is the only one of the four Helsinki evergreen-tree composites not built on the Havu et al. drainage and conductance rows, and although it shares its biogenic CO2 record with archetypes/surfaces/evetr/helsinki-finland--evergreen-street-trees-havu-et-al-2022 it differs from it in drainage, maximum conductance and three OHM positions, so it is not a duplicate. |
Two things in this composite need a maintainer, and neither is a component's value. The OHM mapping is asymmetric: summer_wet takes a mixed-forest coefficient set and the other three positions take a vegetation average whose own name says it includes soil and water, while neither record declares a season or a wetness state, so nothing justifies splitting the summer pair and joining the winter one. And the label cites Järvi et al. (2014) while three of the thirteen components declare that source and the biogenic CO2 component is named for street trees. The drainage selection no longer creates a place or scale problem: its component is now correctly classified as a generic Järvi et al. literature tuple applicable to the evergreen-tree land-cover class, while its London origin preserves later application history. What is sound is the slot set, which is complete, the LAI pair, which agrees on lai_type 1, and the generic drainage and maximum-conductance rows. The remaining questions are about selection and mapping, so they can be settled inside the composite without touching any record. Snowpack limit is now explicitly the generic Järvi land-cover default.
