Where: Table 4b, overall area parameter values, p. 1701
Gives alpha_s,min 0.18, alpha_s,max 0.85, epsilon_s 0.99, a0 0.1, a1 9.9 x 10^3 as printed, a2 0.0102, GDD 300, SDD -450, TBaseGDD 5 degC, TBaseSDD 10 degC, TBaseQF 18.2 degC, Ks 0.0005 mm s-1, a_r 0.0016 mm W-1 h-1 and T_lim 2.2 degC, among others. It is a single set for the whole area.
Where: Table 4 caption, p. 1701
States that sources of the values are as in Järvi et al. (2011) unless indicated otherwise below, so an unfootnoted cell in this table is an inherited value rather than one this study determined.
Where: Table 1, characteristics of the observational sites, p. 1696
Five sites: Kumpula, Pasila and Pihlajamäki in Helsinki, and an urban and a suburban site in Montreal. Each Helsinki eddy covariance footprint is a 1 km radius circle and the catchments are 23.8 and 44.8 ha. London is not a study site; the word appears in the article only in a code-availability address and in a publisher's address in the reference list.
| Name | supported Deciduous Tree matches the record's land_cover.dectr target. |
|---|---|
| Target | supported Growing and senescence degree-day thresholds are land_cover.dectr phenology properties. |
| Values | supported All four are in Table 4b exactly: TBaseGDD 5 degC, TBaseSDD 10 degC, GDD 300 and SDD -450. Table 4b is headed overall area parameter values, so it gives one set for the whole area rather than per vegetation type, which is why the three vegetation records here are identical. |
| Source | correction required The Table 4 caption states that sources of the values are as in Järvi et al. (2011) unless a footnote says otherwise, and this cell carries no footnote. Järvi et al. (2014) compiles the value rather than deriving it. |
| Place | correction required Helsinki is where the study ran; these thresholds are carried forward from earlier work rather than determined there. |
| Representativeness | correction required The record claims city representativeness. Table 1 characterises the Helsinki eddy covariance footprints as 1 km radius circles and the two catchments as 23.8 and 44.8 ha; the study determines neighbourhood-scale values, not city-wide ones. |
| Method | curation required Inherited from an earlier publication, so the production method is not this study's. |
| Identity | supported The three vegetation phenology records hold the same four thresholds because Table 4b publishes one area-wide set, not three. |
The four thresholds are in Table 4b verbatim and the triplication across deciduous, evergreen and grass is what the source prescribes: Table 4b gives one area-wide set rather than a set per vegetation type. What the record overstates is provenance. The caption makes these inherited values, so citing this paper credits it with thresholds it carried forward, and Helsinki city representativeness does not follow from a study whose footprints are 1 km circles.
