Fills the four OHM positions summer_wet, summer_dry, winter_wet and winter_dry. The record declares target ohm_coefficients, source grimmond1991b, no place and no representativeness, and is named "Mixed Forest [20] McCaughey (1985)". It declares no season_label, so nothing in it distinguishes the four positions it fills.
Fills biogen_co2. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place helsinki and representativeness city. It is named "Deciduous trees- forest" and carries source havu-m2024, so its own name matches the forest qualifier in the composite's label.
Fills leaf_growth_power. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place helsinki and representativeness city. It is named "Deciduous Tree, LaiEq = 1", carries source havu-m2024 and declares lai.lai_type 1, matching the leaf_area_index component.
Fills max_vegetation_conductance. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place helsinki and representativeness city. It is named "Dec Tree - forest" and carries source havu-m2024, so its own name matches the forest qualifier in the composite's label.
Fills vegetation_growth. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place helsinki and representativeness city. It carries source jarvi2014 and supplies base_temperature, base_temperature_senescence, gdd_full and sdd_full as one set; its place is the composite's own.
Fills snow_lim_patch. The stable path and origin retain Helsinki migration lineage, while the record declares target land_cover.dectr, place generic, representativeness generic, applicable_scale land_cover, source jarvi2014 and method literature. It supplies the published 190 mm land-cover default.
Fills albedo. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place generic and representativeness generic. It is named "Deciduous Forest", carries source vargo2013 and declares method literature.
Fills drainage. The record is the generic, land-cover-scale Deciduous Tree literature tuple compiled by Järvi et al.; Havu's archive is retained as later Helsinki application evidence.
Fills porosity. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place generic, representativeness generic, applicable_scale land_cover, source unreferenced and method assumed. It supplies porosity_min_deciduous and porosity_max_deciduous to all eight deciduous-tree composites.
Fills emissivity. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place generic and representativeness generic. It is named "Deciduous trees", carries source oke1987 and declares method literature.
Fills leaf_area_index. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place se-england and representativeness regional. It is named "Deciduous Tree (SE England)", carries source jarvi2011, declares method literature and has lai.lai_type 1.
Fills water_storage. The record declares target land_cover.dectr, place se-england and representativeness regional. It carries source jarvi2011 and is the store_min and store_max entry of every deciduous-tree composite.
| Composite identity | supported The composite is named "Deciduous Forest trees, Havu et al. 2024" and three of its components declare source havu-m2024: the leaf growth power, the maximum conductance and the biogenic CO2 set. Two of those three are themselves named "Dec Tree - forest" and "Deciduous trees- forest", so the forest qualifier in the label is carried by the components rather than asserted over them. db/sources.yml registers havu-m2024 as Havu M., Kulmala L., Lee H.S., Saranko O., Soininen J., Ahongshangbam J. and Järvi L, 2024, "CO2 uptake of urban vegetation in a warming Nordic city", Urban Forestry and Urban Greening. The label names the study that defines the typology, not every component, and the radiative, hydrological and storage-heat slots come from other studies without the label claiming otherwise. |
|---|---|
| Composite target | supported The composite's own target is land_cover.dectr. Eleven of its twelve components declare target land_cover.dectr, and the four OHM positions take a record declaring ohm_coefficients, the type that slot carries. The leaf_area_index and leaf_growth_power components both declare lai.lai_type 1, so the pair belongs to one LAI equation, which is the coupling schema/parameter_groups.yml makes a rule for that slot pair. |
| Own parameter values | not applicable The composite declares no parameter overrides of its own. |
| Composition rationale | not applicable The composite claims no composition source, and the repository records no published rationale for this typology. The components' own sources belong to their evidence assessments, not to this review. |
| Place applicability | curation required The composite claims place helsinki, and four of its twelve components carry that place. The four degree-day thresholds are a Helsinki record, while snowpack_limit is a generic Järvi land-cover default; neither imports evidence from another named place. One component carries place swindon (water storage), one carries place se-england (leaf area index), five are generic, and the OHM record carries no place. The site-scoped Swindon water-storage import needs an explicit composition rationale. The leaf_area_index import is forced: db/records/surfaces/dectr holds leaf-area-index records placed at beijing, se-england, shanghai and zurich and none placed at helsinki, so that slot cannot be filled from the composite's own city. |
| Representativeness | curation required The composite claims representativeness city. Four components are city, one is regional, five are generic, the Swindon water-storage record is site-scoped and the OHM record declares no class. The site result is narrower than the city archetype and needs composition-level adjudication. |
| Slot and season mapping | supported The composite assembles existing records into slots and produces no value of its own. All four OHM positions take records/ohm/generic--unreferenced--all-vegetation--mixed-forest-20-mccaughey-1985, which declares no season_label, and no OHM record in the database declares a wet or dry label, so one season-agnostic coefficient set in all four positions is the only mapping the entries support. |
| Completeness and uniqueness | supported Twelve distinct records fill the fifteen slot positions the deciduous-tree composites use, and every one of those slots is filled. Three sibling composites are placed at helsinki. This one differs from the street-trees composite in exactly two components, the maximum conductance and the biogenic CO2 set, and from the park-trees composite in those two and the leaf area index, so the forest typology is distinguishable from both by the components its label names. scripts/export_record.py also recognises a water_state slot and db/records/surfaces/dectr holds records/surfaces/dectr/se-england--ward2016--water-state, which no deciduous-tree composite references. |
This is the cleanest of the eight deciduous-tree composites. Its label names Havu et al. 2024, and the three slots that carry the vegetation behaviour of a forest canopy take havu-m2024 records placed at Helsinki, two of them named for a forest in their own right. The degree-day thresholds are a Helsinki record, while snowpack limit is a generic Järvi land-cover default, so neither slot imports evidence from another named place. The non-Helsinki inputs are the site-scoped water storage from Swindon, regional leaf area index from SE England, generic emissivity and drainage, a generic snowpack limit, a generic Vargo albedo, generic implementation porosity and one generic storage-heat set. The leaf-area-index import is unavoidable because the database holds no Helsinki deciduous-tree leaf-area-index record at all. The two LAI records agree on lai.lai_type 1, so the slot pair does not mix equations. What is missing is only the written rationale for the imports, which no composite in this family carries and which the format expects a composition sidecar to supply. The Swindon site water-storage import also needs that rationale. The components' values remain subject to their own evidence assessments; this review does not revisit them.
