max_conductance | 3.7 |
Where: Table 4, gmax for the gs and gs_LAI cases, p. 4559
Publishes gmax = 3.7 mm s-1 for the grass surface.
Where: Appendix E, Maximum conductance of urban green space in Beijing, p. 4573
The average gmax for grass is 3.7 mm s-1.
Where: Table E1, Maximum conductance (gmax) for each vegetated surface, p. 4573
Festuca arundinacea 5.4, Poa pratensis 4.0 and Zoysia japonica 1.6; their mean is 3.67, which the text reports as 3.7.
Zheng et al. publish the averaged value that the record stores; the species-level inputs are credited to other authors in Table E1.
Where: ModelRuns/Input/SUEWS_Veg.txt, code 993, columns MaxConductance
Carries 3.7 for the grass surface used in the published runs.
Where: ModelRuns/Input/SUEWS_SiteSelect.txt, Beijing grid 1 (2015 and 2016)
Assigns Code_EveTr 991, Code_DecTr 992, Code_Grass 993 and IrrigationCode 5 to the modelled Beijing grid, so those rows are the ones the published runs used.
Confirms that the published value is the one the released runs used.
| Name | supported Table E1 tabulates the grass surface under its own heading. |
|---|---|
| Target | supported Table 4 and the archived MaxConductance column both attach the value to the grass surface. |
| Values | supported Table 4 gives 3.7; Appendix E derives it from Table E1; the archived Veg code 993 carries the same number. |
| Source | supported Zheng et al. is the publication in which the stored value first appears. |
| Place | supported Table E1 draws the species composition from a field survey over Beijing and the conductances from studies of Beijing species. |
| Representativeness | supported Appendix E states that the species average is taken in order to represent the overall vegetation over the urban area in Beijing. |
| Method | supported A species average of published conductances, not a measurement or a fit by Zheng et al. and not an in-database calculation. |
| Identity | supported The value occupies its own row in Table 4 and its own Veg code in the archive, distinct from the other two vegetated surfaces. |
Appendix E states the purpose of these values plainly: "Here, we seek values that can represent the overall vegetation over the urban area in Beijing, and therefore the average is taken from different species." The species population ratios come from a field survey over Beijing (Ma et al., 2019), so the city label is the paper's own claim rather than an inference. Zheng et al. compile published species-level conductances and average them; the underlying measurements are other authors' and are not registry sources here, so the assessment records the method as literature rather than asserting an in-database derivation.
