Radiation fluxes in a business district of Shanghai, ChinaParameter source

Where: Table 2, Building column, epsilon_i, p. 2463

Publishes Building emissivity 0.91 for the Xujiahui SUEWS runs. The superscript points to Oke (1987), but the exact Building-to-0.91 mapping is stated in this table.

Where: Section 3.4, radiation-parameterization evaluation, p. 2462

Describes the Table 2 values as inputs to SUEWS and NARP for the Xujiahui radiometer field of view and eddy-covariance source area.

Boundary Layer ClimatesInput observations

Where: Table 8.2, radiative properties of urban materials, p. 281

Gives emissivity ranges for concrete, brick and stone walls and values for wood walls, tar-and-gravel roofs, and tile or slate roofs. It contains no exact Building or Roof value of 0.91 and no Xujiahui or Shanghai mapping.

Assessment findings

Namesupported
Ao et al. publish the value for the SUEWS Building surface in their Xujiahui CBD application.
Targetsupported
The Building-column emissivity is an input for the SUEWS building land-cover class.
Valuessupported
Ao et al. Table 2 directly prints Building emissivity 0.91, exactly matching the stored value.
Sourcesupported
Ao et al. are the first directly checked publication that states the exact Building mapping of 0.91. Their Oke citation supplies upstream material ranges but no exact Building or Roof value of 0.91, so it cannot replace Ao as this record's exact-value source.
Placesupported
The table supplies model inputs for the Xujiahui study site in Shanghai.
Representativenesssupported
Ao et al. apply the parameter to the Xujiahui source areas; they do not establish a Shanghai-wide building survey, so site reach is supported.
Urban Settingsupported
Ao et al. describe Xujiahui as a central business district.
Methodsupported
The stored value is adopted from a published model-input table rather than measured or fitted by the database.
Identitysupported
The publication preserves the Building, Xujiahui CBD and Shanghai application identity represented by the stable record path and legacy ID.

Scientific note

Ao et al. (2016) directly publish Building emissivity 0.91 for their Xujiahui SUEWS application and are therefore the checked publication that states the exact stored parameter. Their Table 2 cites Oke (1987), but Oke Table 8.2 offers material-specific values and ranges rather than this exact Building mapping. Keeping source ao2016 records the first directly located exact assertion; recording Oke as upstream input preserves the source chain without fabricating a cell-level derivation. No value, source, path, place, method or identity changes are required.
