Where: Table 3(b), Prof3 San Gabriel external-water-use profile, p. 224
Gives period shares 0.35 for 20:00-07:00, 0.19 for 07:00-16:00 and 0.46 for 16:00-20:00, marks Prof3 as San Gabriel data from Grimmond et al. (1996), and states that a constant amount is assumed for each hour within a delineated period.
Where: Table 3, lower-tree-cover neighborhood weekday irrigation survey, p. 50
Reports San Gabriel weekday response percentages of 39% for 20:00-06:00, 21% for 06:00-10:00 and 51% for 16:00-20:00. Normalising 39, 21 and 51 by their sum gives the 0.35, 0.19 and 0.46 Prof3 inputs published later by Järvi et al.; it does not print the derived 24-hour vector.
Where: Study-site selection, external-water-use methodology and meteorological measurements, p. 46-50
Identifies the lower-tree-cover neighborhood as the city of San Gabriel, places its tower in the San Gabriel Water District works yard, and documents questionnaires and bi-monthly billing data.
Where: Complete article, p. 190-202
Develops longwave-radiation and seasonality components of LUMPS and does not publish an irrigation, external-water-use, San Gabriel or code-11 profile.
Where: V2016a SUEWS_Profiles.txt, code 11
Stores 0.03 at hours 00:00-06:00 and 20:00-23:00, 0.02 at 07:00-15:00 and 0.12 at 16:00-19:00, and labels the vector Manual LA Water Use Profile values.
Where: Pre-migration Profiles row 60240000
Preserves the exact vector as a Los Angeles weekday manual-water-use row and records Ref 90240005, the disproved Loridan migration link retained as source_legacy_ref.
| Name | supported The retained old-code name is the stable migration identity shared by the release code and pre-migration row; it does not claim that code 11 is a publication identifier. |
|---|---|
| Target | supported Järvi et al. describe Prof3 as an external-water-use profile, and the release table labels code 11 as a manual Los Angeles water-use profile. |
| Values | supported Table 3 gives San Gabriel Prof3 period shares 0.35, 0.19 and 0.46 and states that water use is constant in each hour of a delineated period. Dividing by 11, 9 and 4 hours and rounding half-up to two decimals produces 0.03, 0.02 and 0.12 at exactly the hours stored by code 11. |
| Source | supported Unreferenced is correct for the derived 24-value vector because Järvi et al. publish its three period inputs, not the rounded hourly outputs. Grimmond et al. document the underlying San Gabriel observations but not this vector, while Loridan et al. contain no irrigation profile. The disproved legacy Ref 90240005 is retained as source_legacy_ref without exporting it as parameter provenance. issue #369 |
| Place | supported Järvi et al. explicitly label Prof3 as San Gabriel, and Grimmond et al. locate the underlying lower-tree-cover neighborhood and measurement tower in the city of San Gabriel. The San Gabriel place is therefore the exact study location rather than the broader Los Angeles application context. issue #368 |
| Representativeness | supported Site records the single lower-tree-cover San Gabriel neighborhood sampled around one tower; neither publication establishes city-wide sampling for Prof3. issue #368 |
| Method | supported Calculated records the deterministic conversion of three published period-total fractions into constant hourly fractions with two-decimal half-up rounding. |
| Identity | supported The pinned release's code 11 vector and Manual LA label match legacy row 60240000 exactly. The stable path, origin, legacy ID and values preserve that migrated identity. |
other · round_half_up(period_fraction / hours_in_period, 2) · Convert the three Prof3 period-total fractions to constant hourly fractions and round each result half-up to two decimal places.
The provenance chain has four distinct layers. Grimmond et al. report the underlying San Gabriel lower-tree-cover neighborhood survey and billing observations. Järvi et al. publish the normalised Prof3 period shares and the constant-within-period rule. Half-up conversion of those shares produces the exact 24 hourly values retained here, and the pinned V2016a table is the release compilation of that derived vector. The hourly values sum to 0.99 because each period's per-hour value was rounded separately. Loridan et al. do not publish any layer of this water-use profile, so the record remains an unreferenced database calculation while preserving Ref 90240005 only as historical metadata. Table 3's explicit Prof3 label and Grimmond et al.'s original site description correct the active place from Los Angeles to San Gabriel and narrow representativeness from city to site. Values, stable path, origin and legacy ID remain unchanged. No coordinates or Koppen class are inferred for the new place.
