Grimmond et al. (1991) is the canonical parameter publication; Doll et al. supplied the underlying observations. Grimmond and Oke (1999) later describe the triplet as a short-grass surface-cover input that is area-weighted during site aggregation. The sidecar preserves the role distinction without attributing the fitted coefficients to Doll et al.
