thermal_conductivity | 1.1 |
specific_heat | 1000 |
density | 1800 |
Where: Table 3.46, ballast row, p. 3-49
Publishes ballast as density 1800 kg m-3, thermal conductivity 1.1 W m-1 K-1 and specific heat 1000 J kg-1 K-1. The immediately preceding cast-concrete row has conductivity 1.13.
Where: Pre-migration Spartacus Material row 36248185
Stores the migrated 1.13/1000/1800 tuple under the MAPSECC reference. The root spreadsheet contains the same literal conductivity, excluding YAML migration as the cause.
| Name | supported Guide A names the material ballast; the historical catalogue preserves the longer display label. |
|---|---|
| Target | supported The source table and historical catalogue both describe thermophysical material properties. |
| Values | supported Table 3.46 publishes density 1800 kg m-3, conductivity 1.1 W m-1 K-1 and specific heat 1000 J kg-1 K-1 for ballast. The former conductivity 1.13 belongs to the adjacent cast-concrete row. |
| Source | supported CIBSE Guide A is the parameter source. The historical catalogue attributed this row to the MAPSECC dataset, but the MAPSECC author clarified that material values should cite CIBSE and that Hertwig et al. should be cited for the UK typologies instead. issue #213 |
| Place | not applicable The generic material row makes no observation-place claim. |
| Representativeness | not applicable The generic material row makes no site, city or regional evidence-reach claim. |
| Method | supported Literature denotes direct adoption of the three thermophysical values from Guide A. |
| Identity | supported Legacy ID 36248185 identifies the retained catalogue row; correcting its source and conductivity does not change the stable record path or its material identity. |
This correction resolves the previously ambiguous MAPSECC lineage. The MAPSECC author confirmed that material values should cite CIBSE rather than Hertwig et al.; a repository-wide usage search finds this ballast record unlinked from any wall, roof or typology. The direct CIBSE row therefore controls both source and value: 1.1 is ballast, while 1.13 is the adjacent cast-concrete value. The stable record path remains unchanged because paths are database identities, not current citation labels.
Paste under material in a SUEWS YAML configuration; every value carries its citation.
